Almost certain: All operating systems Apple has will have version numbers based on the year that they will be used most. Like cars. So iOS 19 isn't coming. iOS 26 is on the way.
Rest of the stuff we know is pretty much just rumors. But let me tell you what is expected.
Redesign
iOS 26 is expected to have a major design changes that is inspired by the visionOS Apple uses for the VR gear they have. An example of this is the new Apple invites app. The design differs from the current design a bit.
Apple needs to change things for sure. iOS and many of the operating systems Apple has are plagued with old and inconsistent designs. We used to make fun of Microsoft for this and it is still true for them. But they weren't known with their design, they were known with corporate soulless software. Apple was different. But now, it feels like Apple lost it's purpose. It is like they don't like and use their products at all. Let's hope that they are not rushing this just like the AI tools that they released.
Siri will get some updates.
There might be a new gaming app.
They might fix the navigation issues they have with all the operating systems they have.
Possible integration of Gemini (Google AI thing), there were talks with perplexity as well.
Swift language and developer related updates for sure.
iPhone XS and XR will probably wont get this update. Macs older than 2019 may lose support as well.
But WWDC 2025 is on June 9 - 4 days left. So we will all learn what's new.
